A "Natural Edge" turning refers to a turning style where the rim of the bowl reflects the shape of the outside of the log from which the bowl blank was cut. Often the bowl has wonderful contrasting colors and textures as the bark is often still attached to the rim, sap wood hightlights the rim and the heart wood hightlights the sides and bottom of the piece.
